AG Memorial Van Damme to be held behind closed doors
The 44th AG Memorial Van Damme on Friday Sep.4th unfortunately will be an event without spectators. But the meeting is not cancelled and the meeting program does not change. The Memorial Van Damme continues to offer world class athletics highlighted by 2 two World Record attempts in the one hour event. The entire program will be covered live by Belgian public broadcasters.
Exceptional AG Memorial Van Damme targets One Hour World Records
The 44th edition of the AG Memorial Van Damme on Friday, Sep.4th will be one of the first big sports events that will be allowed to take place in Belgium this year. It will not be an event as usual and there will be restrictions but it promises to become spectacular in its own right. This edition presents, among other things, a double attack at the One Hour World Records.
Thiam, KJT and Duplantis are also coming to Brussels!
The 44th AG Memorial Van Damme on September 4 also has a battle in store between the two best Heptathletes in the world, a Pole Vault event starring World Record holder Mondo Duplantis and a perfume of the very best of Belgian sprinting.
Van Branteghem: 'It will become a very special event!'
Meeting Director Cédric Van Branteghem presented the 44th AG Memorial Van Damme at a press conference on Tuesday. This exceptional Memorial serves a double attack on the world hour record, a battle between the two most complete athletes in the world, the pole wonder Duplantis and Belgian sprint fireworks.

Lockdown streaming
The presentation of this 44th AG Memorial Van Damme can be seen starting at 7:00 pm in a near livestream, ahead of a two hour lockdown streaming from the King Baudouin Stadium. That is one of a series of livestreams of DJ-sets at iconic locations in Brussels, without audience.
Lyles and Asher-Smith king and queen of the sprint, Taylor breaks 24-year old meet record
Friday night's AG Memorial Van Damme revealed the identity of the 15 new IAAF Diamond League champions. Triple jumper Christian Taylor stole the show by breaking the meet record dating back to 1995. Noah Lyles and Dina Asher-Smith starred in the sprints of the 43rd edition of the Memorial.
Kimeli claims Olympic ticket, Thiam third
22 Belgians took part in Friday’s 43rd edition of the AG Memorial Van Damme. Ten of them received a wildcard for one of the 15 IAAF Diamond League-finales. Heptathlon star Nafi Thiam excelled by claiming third in the high jump competition, Isaac Kimeli grabbed an Olympic ticket on the 5000 metres.
Young talent, online winners and 'Equal Rights Runners' in action
The AG Memorial Van Damme is more than just the season finale of the IAAF Diamond League. The Youth Memorial is a traditional part of the programme, which also included the AG 4x100 metres and the Equal Rights Run.
