Farah, Abdi, Hassan and Kosgei ready for world record attempt
Breaking the world record. That's the goal for Mo Farah, Bashir Abdi, Sifan Hassan and Brigid Kosgei at Friday night's AG Memorial Van Damme. On the eve of their big challenge, the four runners spoke to the press at the King Baudouin Stadium. How do they rate their chances?

Rosius: 'Honoured to be called new Kim Gevaert’
At the press conference for the AG Memorial Van Damme, Belgian sprint icon Kim Gevaert was accompanied by the athlete that many call her successor: Rani Rosius. The 20-year-old is set to make her Memorial debut on Friday.
Kipyegon: 'The light will guide me to the world record'
Faith Kipyegon’s spirits are high ahead of Friday’s AG Memorial Van Damme. The 26-year-old Kenyan has faith that she will be able to break the 1000m record, guided by the light: the Wavelight technology will dictate the world record pace in Brussels.

The 44th AG Memorial Van Damme will be held behind closed doors next Friday, due to the coronacrisis. To add some athmosphere and to improve the involvement the organisers are bringing in some technology.
Olympic Champion Faith Kipyegon to attack 24 year old World Record, set in Brussels
The 44th AG Memorial Van Damme already announced a double attack at the One Hour World Records. Now Faith Kipyegon is added to the billboard with an attempt to set a new World Record in the 1000m. Olympic Pole Vault Champion Thiago Braz is also added to the field, as well as the new Belgian sprint sensation Rani Rosius. Nafi Thiam has withdrawn from the meeting, due to a disturbing achilles tendon injury.
Duplantis: ‘I want to jump over 6,15m’
At the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Stockholm last Sunday Armand Duplantis again was a class of his own. The Swedish Pole Vaulter crossed a bar at 6,01m … but he wants to jump much higher than that shortly.

The four times Olympic Champion is currently on an altitude training camp in the French Pyrenees and he is meticulously preparing his attempt. “We are going to make it a fantastic showcase on September, 4th”, says the 37 year old athletics legend from Great Britain.
Duplantis and Broeders in great shape, Ingebrigtsen sets European Record
In Monaco the first meeting of the Wanda Diamond League 2020 was held. Armand Duplantis, Ben Broeders and Jacob Ingebrigtsen impressed in the Stade Louis II. That is a promising conclusion ahead of the AG Memorial Van Damme on September, 4th.
Sifan Hassan to attack One Hour World Record at AG Memorial Van Damme
Sifan Hassan from the Netherlands is added to the field that is due to attack the Women’s One Hour World Record at the AG Memorial Van Damme on Friday, Sep. 4th. In the Men’s event Mo Farah and Bashir Abdi are joined by Sondre Moen from Norway. A Men’s 1500m is also added to the Meeting Program, in which Henrik, Filip en Jakob Ingebrigtsen can make it a family battle.
