Athletics fans can look forward to Audrey Werro’s appearance at the Allianz Memorial Van Damme. The 22-year-old Swiss athlete has been the sensation of the season in the 800 metres. Week after week, Werro has been breaking records in the 800 metres. She is the fastest 800-metre runner since 1983.
Allianz Memorial Van Damme launches Memorial Run: 5 km along Ivo Van Damme’s former training route in Leuven
The Allianz Memorial Van Damme is more than just enjoying top-class sport. This year, you can take part yourself: the Memorial Run on Sunday 23 August, will be an atmospheric 5 km race along Ivo Van Damme’s former training route on the outskirts of Leuven. Registration is now open. The Memorial Run forms part of the festive anniversary programme for the 50th edition of the Memorial, which takes place in Brussels on 4 and 5 September.

Carl Lewis in Hall of Fame and guest of honour at 50th Allianz Memorial Van Damme
One of the most succesful and popular athletes of all time will be inducted in the Hall of Fame of the Allianz Memorial Van Damme. Nine times Olympic Champion Carl Lewis is coming to the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels as one of our guests of honour at the 50th anniversary. Mike Boit and Dwight Stones, who won their event in the very first Memorial in 1977 and fellow athletes from Ivo Van Damme, will also be inducted in the Hall of Fame. The anniversary edition of the Allianz Memorial Van Damme will be held in exactly 100 days.
The Memorial receives a virtual visit from Ivo Van Damme
The anniversary edition of the Allianz Memorial Van Damme pays tribute to Ivo van Damme, the man whose name was posthumously given to the meeting. In the campaign movie for this 50th edition, Ivo himself takes on the leading role. He finds himself in 2026 at stadium, where he looks on with approval at what has become of the idea he once planted with a group of journalists: a major international athletics meeting in Brussels.

Gressier targets one-hour record, Kimeli sets sights on 26-year-old Belgian record
The Allianz Memorial Van Damme will celebrate its 50th edition this year and will once again host the Diamond League Final. As a result, just like in 2024, the Memorial will take place over two competition days. The event is scheduled for Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels. Special sporting highlights for spectators will include record attempts by Jimmy Gressier and Isaac Kimeli.
World Record Holder Mahuchikh aims for Fifth Victory in Brussels
Yaroslava Mahuchikh will be one of the stars at the 50th edition of the Allianz Memorial Van Damme on Friday 4 September. The 24-year-old Ukrainian is the world record holder and reigning Olympic Champion in the high jump and will be cheered on in Brussels. Mahuchikh has already won four times at the King Baudouin Stadium and is aiming for a fifth victory this year.
