Long Jump phenomenon Miltiades Tentoglou targets first Brussels victory

Miltiadis Tentoglou, who was crowned European Champion in Birmingham for the 4th consecutive time, will be heading to the 50th edition of the Allianz Memorial Van damme on Friday, Sep.4th. The Greek phenomenon in the Long Jump is also the double Olympic Champion and holds a personal best performance of 8,66m. He is by far the best Long Jumper in recent history.

Nobody jumped further in the World in the past 7 years than the 8,66m that Miltiades Tentoglou registered at the Greek National Championships on July, 26th. In Birmingham Tentoglou secured his 4th European title with a jump of 8,44m. Tentoglou won the World title in 2023 and can easily be called one of the world all time most succesful Long Jumpers.

Tentoglou also won 11 Wanda Diamond League meetings, including the Wanda Diamond League Final in Zürich in 2022. At the Allianz Memorial Van Damme the Greek has not won yet. In 2024 he had to settle for 3rd in the King Baudouin Stadium, during the Wanda Diamond League Final. On Friday, Sep. 4th Tentoglou gets another chance to victory in Brussels.

On September 4th and 5th the Allianz Memorial Van Damme hosts the Wanda Diamond League Final, in which the best athletes from 2026 compete against each other in 32 events. The winners receive the prestigious Diamond Trophy.
