Bronze European medallist Nkansa gets 100m wildcard

Delphine Nkansa will be on the startlist of the Women’s 100m on Saturday Sep.,5th during the 50th edition of the Allianz Memorial Van Damme. The freshly crowned European Bronze Medallist from Belgium is rewarded with a wildcard after her surprising performance in Birmingham.

The Allianz Memorial Van Damme hosts the Wanda Diamond League Final on Friday Sep., 4th and on Saturday Sep.,5th. The best athletes from 2026 will be competing in the King Baudouin Stadium in 32 athletic events – 16 with the men and 16 with the women. The Women’s 100m with Delphine Nkansa will take place on Saturday Sep.,5th at 20:15 hrs.

The 24 year old Nkansa earned a first European medal for Belgium when storming to third place in the Women’s 100m. She set a personal best of 11”06, only 2 hundredths of a second shy of the belgian national record, that is held since 2006 by Kim Gevaert. Kim Gevaert is the meeting director of the Allianz Memorial Van Damme who won 100m gold at the 2006 European Championships in Göteborg.
