24-year-old Jefferson-Wooden is the sprint sensation of the moment. During the American Championships in Eugene, she set the world on edge by winning both the 100 and 200 metres, each time setting a personal best. With 10.65 in the 100 metres (the fifth fastest time ever) and 21.84 in the 200 metres, she currently leads the world rankings.
Jefferson-Wooden is also the first athlete since 2003 to win both the 100 and 200 metres at the American trials.
In Paris, Jefferson-Wooden won Olympic bronze in the 100 metres last year. Since then, the American has remained unbeaten in her favourite discipline.
