Ghent discovers the Art of pole vaulting at the Kouter
For the people of Ghent, The Kouter has been one of the typical meeting spots for many generations. In the middle ages musters and jousts were regularly held at the site. Anno 2017 the Kouter hosted a pole vault competition as part of the AG Urban Memorial Van Damme Series. The day's victories went to Fanny Smets and Arnaud Art.

Seasonal Best for Milanov, Schippers wins but was a false starter
At the Diamond League meeting in Oslo 8 Belgian athletes were part of the action. Philip Milanov threw his discus longer than he had done before in this season and remains the leader in his event in the Road to Brussels.

Milanov longest Discus Thrower at Ostend Beach
Philip Milanov has won the AG Insurance Urban Memorial Van Damme Discus Throwing event in Ostend. The athlete who is home in Bruges threw his Discus 64.68m long and enjoyed a “beautiful day on a unique location”.
2nd AG Urban Memorial at Ostend Beach
On Sat. June, 6th an interesting field of Discus Throwers is heading for Ostend Beach, at See Heroes Square (Zeeheldenplein). With a bank holiday on Monday and nice weather forecasts a huge number of tourists are expected to be in the various beach areas on the Belgian coastline. The 2nd leg of the AG Urban Memorial Van Damme presents a high level competition with local favourite Philip Milanov, but also a Kids Athletics session and the AG Sprint Experience.
Big triumph and an amazing National Record for Nafissatou Thiam in Götzis Heptahlon
Nafissatou Thiam scored an impressive victory in the famous Heptathlon in Götzis. The Olympic Champion set a mark of 7.013 points which not only pulverizes the national record that she set last summer at the Olympics (6.810 points). It also puts her in third place on the all time best list behind American Jackie Joyner-Kersee (7.291 points in 1988) and Carolina Klüft from Sweden (7.032 points in 2007).
