The organisers are pleased to announce to all the athletics fans and for the Allianz Memorial Van Damme itself that audiences will again be allowed in the stadium, after the 2020 “closed doors” event. Ticketing will reopen soon.

A new Wanda Diamond League meeting in the British city of Gateshead will be the opening event of the Diamond League season. The competition calendars will be affected by some minor changes in the first weeks of the season.

Allianz to become largest ever partner of Belgian Athletics
Allianz not only becomes the new title partner of the Memorial Van Damme. The worldwide insurance company with a lasting tradition in sports sponsoring has decided to collaborate at all levels in Belgian Athletics : the Memorial Van Damme, the national and regional federations and a number of individual athletes. The agreement is made for a 4 year term.
These will be the disciplines in Brussels!
The Wanda Diamond League will include 32 disciplines in 2021, 16 for men and the same number for women. Each meeting in the series will be able to welcome at least 13 disciplines. Brussels will host 14.
32 Disciplines and Extra Prize Money For 10 Stars
The Wanda Diamond League revealed the calendar last week, and has now also announced the changes to the prize money that will be awarded next year. The disciplines that were cancelled in 2019 will make a return, which means that a total of 32 disciplines are once again in with a chance of winning a Diamond Trophy. What’s new is that ten stars can count on an extra prize pool of 500,000 dollars.

De in 2019 geschrapte disciplines keren terug, waardoor in totaal opnieuw 32 disciplines kans maken op een Diamond Trophy. Nieuw is dat tien uitblinkers kunnen rekenen op een extra prijzenpot van 500.000 dollar.

Duplantis Makes History in Rome
