The poster of the 35th edition of the Belgacom Memorial Van Damme is produced by Monique Bilcke.
The former teacher embodies a "vocation late in coming". After training at the Academy of Roeselare, she began, inspired by the Impressionists, painting landscapes, even though their display already was characterised by unique features and a limited colour palette.
"Now I only work in my studio in Diksmuide. I mainly use colours that are close to gray, beige, white and black. "
Recently, Monica Bilcke created quite a controversy with a series of urban scenes in vague colours, inspired by Luc Tuymans .
