Date World Championships affects Belgacom Memorial Van Damme

The Worlds Championships athletics in South Korea affects the date of the Belgacom Memorial Van Damme . Because of the Worlds the Memorial now moves from late August to mid-September.

The World Cup only ends on 4 September and staging the Memorial one week later already was not an option for organizer Wilfried Meert. "The jet lag that athletes will have to endure is enormous and we therefore opted for 16 September. We do realise the weather can spoil the evening, but we take that risk."
