The Belgacom Memorial Van Damme, this year’s final event in the Diamond League, has signed an exclusive agreement in Shanghai with the Chinese Top Sports equipment company Jinling Sports Equipment. Jinling manufactures and distributes sports equipment (machines, materials,…) and was, among other, the official supplier for the 2008 Olympics.
The agreement with the Memorial continues until 2014. These are also the first steps into the European market for this Chinese company. "We are very excited that Jinling sees our organization as a gateway to Europe”, said Bob Verbeeck, CEO of the Memorial Van Damme. "Conversely, the agreement with Jinling opens up various cooperation opportunities for us in China. Chinese companies are looking more and more for better brand awareness in Europe."
"For years, the Memorial has been an absolutely world-class athletics event. The next two years, the Memorial will also be the final event of the IAAF Diamond League. With our company we were already present at the Diamond League in Shanghai.
