Pole vault phenomenon and world record holder, Olympic and world champion Mondo Duplantis will once again be seen in Brussels. Normally, the Swede collects enough points throughout the Diamond League season to secure a place in the final anyway. Even if unforeseen circumstances were to prevent that, the organizers have a wildcard reserved for him (as soon as he’s eligible).
The men’s pole vault is scheduled for Friday evening, 4 September, along with the men’s and women’s 100m and thirteen other disciplines. The remaining 16 disciplines – including the men’s and women’s 200m – will take place on Saturday evening, 5 September. In addition to the sporting main program, a host of extra-sporting surprises are planned to add extra flavor to this anniversary edition.
