Corona restrictions in Morocco are disturbing the scheduled opening meeting of the Wanda Diamond League in Rabat on May, 23rd. Actually Great Britain has the opportunity to organise a high level athletics meeting and it is up to Gateshead to take the honours and inaugurate the Diamong League season, on that same May, 23rd.
One week later and according to plan Doha will be the next stage on May, 28th. The meeting in Rome is shifting from June, 4th to June, 10th and will be held in Florence. The Olympic Stadium in Rome is not available due to the European Football Championships. The Bislet Games in Oslo are moving from June, 10th to July, 1st, following Covid-measures in Norway.

With regard to Tolyo 2021 and to the World Championships in Oregon next year that is very important to them. I really want to thank all Diamond League meeting organisers from the bottom of my heart for their continuing efforts to offer full competition programs starting as early as May and all through the summer until the Final in September.”
