Young talent from Sweden Daniel Stahl has made considerable progress this year and won silver at the World Championships. He broke the 33 year old Swedish record in Sollentuna with a 71,29m toss. Stahl also leads the Diamond Race after victories in Oslo and in London.
Robert Urbanek and Piotr Malachowski from Poland are also interesting athletes on the circuit. Urbanek won bronze at the EC 2014 and at the WC 2015. Malachowski won EC gold in 2010 and in 2016 and became World champion in 2015. Malachowski also won silver at the Rio Olympics. He then put his silver medal on auction to spend the money for a cancer treatment of a young child of only 3 year.
Germany is represented by the two Harting brothers : Robert and Christophe who both won Olympic gold. Robert won the gold in 2012 and became famous when he tore his shirt apart and crossed some hurdles in the stadium to celebrate his victory. Christian won the gold last year in Rio.
Andrius Gudzius is the World Champion who represents Lithuania. Gudzius has an impressive record of performances in the different youth categories. Philip Milanov acts in front of his home crowd and took silver at the WC 2015 and at the EC 2016. Milanov won Diamond League meetings in London in 2015 and in Shangai in 2017.
