Daniel Stahl is the World’s number 1 in the Disvus Throw. The 28 year old Swede adores the Allianz Memorial Van Damme, where he took victory in 2016 and in 2019. 2019 was Stahl’s best ever season, crowned by the World Title that he won in Doha. He also set his Personal Best of 71,86m in 2019. In 2021 Stahl came close to his PB with a 71,40m effort. The Swede is highly favoured to win Olympic Gold in Tokyo.
Stahl’s biggest challenger in Tokyo and in Brussels will be Fedrick Dacres. The 27 year old Jamaican took silver at the World Championships in Doha. In 2018 Dacres triumphed at the Allianz Memorial Van Damme with a 68,67m throw. His PB dates back from 2019 and stands at 70,78m. His seasonal best provisionally stands at 66,01m.
Philip Milanov knows ho wit feels to win silver at World Championships. The 30 year old Discus Thrower from Bruges lived the experience in 2015 in Beijing. His PB dates back from 2016 and stands at 67,26m. His seasonal best reaches 63,85m. At the Allianz Memorial Van Damme, the second to last leg of the Wanda Diamond League Milanov gets an interesting opportunity to challenge the world’s best throwers in this exciting event.
