Nafi Thiam is the Belgian athletics star, she figures on all billboards throughout the country. The Heptahlete will be one of the challengers of Lasitskene in the High Jump. Lasitskene is absolutely dominant in her event, she won in Eugene, in Rome, in Stockholm, in London and in Monaco, before winning the World title in London. She also set a new Diamond League record of 2.06m.
Lasitskene competes as an authorised neutral athlete (ANA), as agreed by the IAAF. Lasitskene is the leader in the Diamond League Standings ahead of Kamila Licwinko (POL) (28 points) and of Vashti Cunningham (USA) (19 points).
Second best Diamond League competitor Elaine Thompson (JAM) earned a total of 40 Diamond Race points in the Women’s 100m. Mutaz Essa Barshim (QAT) also has a total of 40 points, with 5 DL-wins in the Men’s High Jump.
The athlete who wins his or her event in the Diamond League Final will be crowned as Diamond League Winner, but there is little doubt that the Diamond League Queen is heading for another victory in the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels.
