Andrius Gudzius took the gold in Berlin after a throw of 68m46. The Lithuanian powerhouse beat Daniel Stahl from Sweden by 23 centimetres. Lukas Weisshaidinger took the bronze. The European title was Gudzius’ second major win of his career. Last year he became world champion.
Fedrick Dacres (Jamaica) will also be one of the main contenders in Brussels. He already won three Diamond League meetings this year and a fourth win would be the icing on the cake. But then he must beat the European trio and Ehsan Hadadi (Iran) and Mason Finley (USA).
