Due to injury woes, 2023 was not a good year for Alison dos Santos, but this year he is definitely back. At the Paris Olympics, the 24-year-old Brazilian grabbed bronze and he won five of the six Wanda Diamond League races he participated in this year. His victory in Oslo in 46.63 is the second fastest time of the year. His PR is 46.29 and dates back to 2022, the year the Brazilian became World Champion.
“I feel good,” says dos Santos. “I started 2024 with a different mindset, much more relaxed. I enjoy every race, and I will do the same on Saturday. I always like running in Brussels, it's a place I have a special connection with. I use it as a base when I do several meetings in Europe. I train in Leuven. You can also eat very well in Brussels. Yes, I love coming here and do it often.”
“Saturday I will run my last race of 2024, and I want it to be something extraordinary. I want to compete for that diamond trophy,” dos Santos shares ambitiously, two years ago he was crowned the Wanda Diamond League Champion in the 400-metre hurdles.
