A few weeks ago the first of 3 Urban Memorial Van Damme was held at the Brussels Atomium. The Belgian Tornadoes and Eline Berings delighted the local crowds with good performances in an outstanding athmosphere.
The setting of the Pole Vault competition that will be held in Antwerp on Saturday August, 25 is awesome. A Pole Vault area will be built on the water of the Bonaparte Docks, in front of the iconic “Museum on the River”, one of the most attractive landmarks of the City of Antwerp. As spectacular as the setting will be the line up, which is headed by Renaud Lavillenie, who is the best Pole Vaulter in the world. The Frenchman holds the World record with 6,16m.
All are welcome in Antwerp, access is free and children up to the age of 12 can participate in a Kids Athletics event to take their first steps in athletics, led by experienced athletics coaches. Come with as many club members to the Urban Memorial Events and win the AG Diamond Box for your club ! The AG Diamond Box is a fantastic surprise box. But also the 3 clubs with the most members present can line up a 4 x 100m mixed relay team to participate at the AG Memorial Van Damme on Friday August 31st.
Reigning Olympic and World Champion Nafi Thiam will compete on Wednesday August, 18th in the Stadium of Naimette-Xhovémont. The Women’s High jump will be the closing event of the International meeting of the Province of Liège, the biggest athletics meeting in the southern part of the country. Entries are free for those who download a ticket from the LOC website. Fans will be allowed to attend the High jump competition from close by, sitting in a circle around the High Jump area. Again a unique experience !
