No less than 39 World Championships Medal Winners are lining up in Brussels, 9 of them are World Champions. Another 23 European Area medal winners (9 golds) and 23 Olympic medal winners (5 gold) complete the picture. It will be a night of World Class Athletics, that is for sure. The local fans will also be happy to welcome their best athletes and make it a wonderful evening in the King Baudouin Stadium.
The 800m Men's gathers the Oregon 2022 Top 3, the European Championships Top 2 and the Olympic Silver Medalist. Jake Wightman is also a World 1500m Champion. The Women’s High Jump also brings the WC Top 3 together again, as well as European silver medalist Maria Vukovic and Belgian Nafi Thiam who jumped highest of all athletes in Munich (1,98m) in the Heptathlon. Barbora Spotakova from the Czech Republic joins the field in the Javelin Throw and by right. The multiple World and Olympic Champion managed to earn bronze at the Europeans as well. The men's Pole Vault is the deepest field ever in Brussels, in terms of performance levels.
In the Women’s 100m Hurdles European Champion Pia Skrzyszowska is added to the field, while Shericka Jackson joins the mindblowing line up in the Women’s 100m. Laura Muir (EC gold, OG silver and WC bronze) heads the field in the Women’s 1500m. The Men’s 5000m looks amazing as well with the likes of Grant Fisher, Jacob Krop or Yomif Kejelcha on the infield. The Urban Shot Put event on Thursday evening offers European Champion Mihaljevic the opportunity to challenge some of the best Americans and Tom Walsh from New Zealand. Be there at the Brussels Fish Market, one of the main tourist attractions of the Belgian capital !
