Philip Milanov is in excellent form. At the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Shangai Milanov won his event. In front of his home fans – Milanov lives just a few miles outside Ostend – he should be extra motivated to set a world class performance. Alongside Milanov some other strong guys can be watched from close by. Cadee and Dekker from the Netherlands, Semenov from the Ukraine, Columbian Ortega and Vonavka from the Czech Republic are the most important competitors to take on Milanov.
CHILDREN AND SPRINT
From 1:00 p.m. onwards children can participate in a Kids Athletics session lead by Kim Gevaert and by coaches from Hermes Ostend Track Club. Joining the sessions is free and participating children will receive a certificate. The pre program consists of Discus Throw competitions for Under 18 and Under 16 athletes.
At every Urban Memorial event title partner AG Insurance organizes the AG Sprint Experience. All those who want to are invited to race 50m on a regular sprint track. The 9 fastest men and women will compete on Friday, Sep, 1st in the pre program of the Memorial in front of 40.000 spectators to decide who will become the fastest man or women for one day.

The Diamond Race Final of the Men’s Shot Put will be held in the city center of Brussels, on Thursday August, 31st.
